Frequently Asked Questions
Your question may already be answered here.
Can I substitute ingredients in a recipe?
Often, yes. Many recipes list common substitutions in the notes. For marinades, sides and sauces there is usually room to adjust; for anything that depends on structure, such as batters and fritters, change one thing at a time. If you are unsure about a swap, send us a message and we will point you in a sensible direction.
Are the nutrition numbers exact?
No. Nutrition information is an estimate calculated from standard ingredient data. Brands, portion sizes and substitutions change the real values, so treat the numbers as a guide. If you follow a medical diet or have allergies, check your own ingredient labels.
Why did my dish turn out different from the photo?
Grills and stoves vary a lot: hot spots, wind, outdoor temperature, pan thickness and the thickness of the meat all affect results. Rely on an instant-read thermometer for doneness rather than time alone, and use the cook times as a starting point.
Can I use a gas grill for the smoking recipes?
In many cases you can approximate it with a foil pouch of wood chips and a two-zone setup, keeping the food over the cooler side. Results differ from a dedicated smoker, so check the internal temperature and adjust times accordingly.
How do I report an error in a recipe?
Use the form above and tell us the recipe name, the step or ingredient in question and what you think is wrong. We review corrections and update the recipe when needed.
Can I use your recipes or images on my own site?
You may quote a short excerpt or share one image with a clear link back to the original recipe on Kitchen Griller. Please do not republish full recipes or instructions. For commercial use, contact us first. See the Terms of use for the full wording.
What happens to the information I send?
Contact form messages are used only to reply to you. The same applies to the name and comment text you submit with a recipe rating. The Privacy Policy explains logs, cookies, advertising and how long data is kept.
Can I suggest a recipe or topic?
Yes. Tell us the dish, the cooking method and what you would like it to solve, such as a quicker weeknight version or a side that holds up on a buffet. Suggestions help us decide what to cover next. You can also learn more about the site on our About Us page.
