Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Before sending an email, please check if your question is answered below:

Q: Can I substitute ingredients in your recipes?

A: Yes, but proceed with caution! Cooking is chemistry, especially in baking or marinades. We always try to list common substitutions in the "Chef's Tips" section of each recipe. If a specific substitution isn't listed, we haven't tested it, so we can't guarantee the results.

Q: Can I use your photos on my blog?

A: We work hard to create our original photography. You may use one photo if you link back to the original recipe on Kitchen Griller and give full credit. You may NOT repost the entire recipe or instructions. For commercial use, please contact us first.

Q: Do you have nutritional information for your recipes?

A: Most of our recipes include an estimated nutritional breakdown card. Please note these are calculated using an online tool and can vary based on the specific brands of ingredients you use at home.

Q: Can I use a gas grill for your smoking recipes?

A: Absolutely! We believe you don't need a dedicated offset smoker to make great BBQ. Most of our smoking recipes include a section on "How to make this on a gas grill" using a foil pouch for wood chips and setting up a 2-zone fire.

Q: Why didn't my recipe turn out like the picture?

A: There are many variables in grilling! Outdoor temperature, wind, humidity, and the specific hot spots on your grill all play a role. We recommend using an instant-read thermometer rather than relying solely on cook times.

Q: How do I clean my cast iron skillet after using it on the grill?

A: Great question! Wash it with hot water (avoid soap if possible) while it's still warm. Dry it thoroughly immediately to prevent rust, then rub a light coat of oil on it. Never put it in the dishwasher.

Q: Can I submit a recipe to Kitchen Griller?

A: Currently, we are not accepting outside submissions as all our recipes go through a rigorous internal testing process with our specific team. However, we love hearing your suggestions! Feel free to email us what you'd like to see next.

Q: How do I unsubscribe from your newsletter?

A: We're sad to see you go! There is an "Unsubscribe" link at the very bottom of every email we send. Click that, and you'll be removed from our list immediately.
