Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp fresh black pepper
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 4 (6 oz) swordfish steaks, 1 inch thick
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 scallions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl or Ziploc bag, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, grated ginger, minced garlic, black pepper, and honey.
  2. Place the swordfish steaks into the bag, seal tightly while removing excess air, and refrigerate for 30 to 45 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (approximately 400°F / 200°C).
  4. Using tongs and a folded paper towel dipped in vegetable oil, lubricate the grill grates to prevent sticking.
  5. Remove swordfish from the marinade, letting excess drip off, and place steaks on the grill.
  6. Grill for 4 to 6 minutes per side until a deep mahogany-colored crust forms.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced scallions and toasted sesame seeds.
